Collective Act, Sharing Goodness
Dajong- the Surigaonon word for collective action for one's or public welfare. It's Tagalog equivalent is "bayanihan" or "damayan." Or "pagtinabangay" or "tambayayongay" or 'dayong" in Visayan.
Dajong implies partnership or collectivity. It is best exemplified when friends, neighbors or relatives will help one in transferring his "nipa hut" to another place. They plan together. They act together in bearing the weight of the nipa hut to its destined place.
To aspire for development, we need to revive the spirit of dajong.
Thus, this dajong.blogspot is dedicated to document and to tell the act of dajong as well as to promote the spirit of dajong.
This will supplement my other blogspot- karajawan which I will focus on intellectual and literary discussions involving the Surigaonon- their History and Destiny.
